Generally speaking the text is lost. What you can do, if you have saved the document recently is quit the application. The computer will then ask you if you want to save the changes made to the document. Click "NO". The document will close and you can then re-open the file. You will then be back with the document as it was when you last saved. If you have only just deleted the text, and not done anything else, you could select the command "Undo" from the Edit" menu. In most cases this will restore the text. Depending on the application you use for desktop publishing, you might even have a successive undo function, which allow you to recover after several actions have been taken since the deletion of the text. But I wouldn't like to be depending of this function being available.
