What is essence of beauty?

Ivan Panin said "for every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. What is beauty? The American Heritage Dictionary defines it as "the quality that gives pleasure to the mind or senses." The Word is derived from the original Latin of bellus, meaning pretty. Beauty means different things to different people. No matter what the definition, beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.
