What happens at the end of call of duty 5?

at the end of Call of Duty 5 you are one of the Russians and you are carrying the flag.but when you get close some guy shoots you but reznov pulls out his sWord and kills the guy.now while you are in prone you have to put the flag up and you beat the game.
