When did Irena Sendler get caught?

Irena Sendler was caught by the Gestapo in 1943 during her efforts to smuggle Jewish children out of the Warsaw Ghetto. After her arrest, she was tortured but managed to maintain her silence about the children she had saved. She was eventually released due to a bribe arranged by her friends in the Polish underground.
