Which states were free Union States?

The Union states were free except:

Maryland

Delaware

Missouri

and Kentucky

So the free Union states were Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Kansas, California and Oregon. Nevada entered the Union as a free state during the Civil War.
