What are the rules for poker pairs?

In Poker, pairs are when you have two cards of the same rank. The rules for pairs in poker are that the higher the rank of the pair, the stronger the hand. For example, a pair of aces is stronger than a pair of twos. If two players have the same pair, the player with the highest kicker (the highest card not part of the pair) wins.
