Tamarind adds flavor to foods and beverages, but is not a good source of any vitamin if just 2g pulp from one pod is consumed. Tamarind does contain vitamins when more than one pod is consumed. Tamarind seeds are really large and take up most of the pod.
Tamarind Vitamins: 1 ounce (28g) contains Vitamin B1 0.1mg (8%DV), B2 (3%DV), B3 0.5mg (3%DV), B6 (1%DV), Folate (1%DV) and Vitamin K (1%DV).
Tamarind also contains some dietary fiber and minerals.
