What unpleasant memory do they now refer to as the dance Lord of the Flies?

In the Lord of the Flies there is a scene in which a group of kids call the hunters are doing a ritual in which they are dancing and acting out the way they killed the beast and in the end, end up hurting and killing another kid because they mistake him for the beast. So i am guessing that the reference is to that ritual in the book and movie.
