Why do different animals have different ears?

the reason why is because their ears judge by their mood like if the are happy they will stand up and if they're scared their ears will be back if you see a dog with its tail wagging it also doesn't mean its happy if an animals tail is wagging and their ears are back never aproach them just quietly and calmy walk backwards or they may attack
