You operate an automobile by starting the engine, putting the car in gear, and using the accelerator pedal to drive. The brake pedal is used to stop the car. There are many things to learn about driving, and by the time a person gets to the point of getting their license to operate a motor vehicle, they will know all the basics plus a little bit more about driving. Everyone has to pass a written test and a driving test to become licensed.
