How is shopping a subversive activity for women?

Shopping is not a subversive activity for women. Subversive means that something is being ruined or overturned by something or someone else. Depending on who this applies to, most women would not use subversive to describe shopping. Unless someone has ruined the shopping experience for them.

I think for some women it is. It it a means to have a temporary feeling of satisfaction and happiness for some, so in that sense it is subversive. This is most often not known by the woman directly and all she knows is she feels better after a shopping trip.
