What is a voluntary organization and how is it different from a statutory organization?

A statutory organization is set up by law or by the government. It is usually given a specific task to do or special responsibilities. People working in it are usually employed by the government, through this organization.

A voluntary organization can be set up by individuals and use volunteers to work in it. Quite often they are involved in charity work or doing some other good works, like providing counselling services or help to people looking for advice. They can be involved in fundraising. They may be highlighting some issues to bring them to the attention of more people.
