Can the alkaloids be put back into ephedra?

Alkaloids, such as ephedrine and pseudoephedrine, can be extracted from the Ephedra plant, but they cannot be "put back" into the plant after extraction. Once alkaloids are removed, the plant does not regenerate them in the same way. However, through cultivation and proper agricultural practices, plants can be grown to produce these alkaloids, but they won't be the same as reintroducing extracted alkaloids back into the original plant.
