In the book "Night" by Elie Wiesel, the men who were forced to run in the concentration camps faced exhaustion, brutality, and often death. Running was a means to test their endurance and weed out those deemed unfit or weak by the Nazis. Many of those forced to run were either shot or sent to the gas chambers if they could not keep up.
