Before shooting Abraham Lincoln, John Wilkes Booth visited several locations in Washington, D.C. He first stopped at the Ford's Theatre, where Lincoln would be attending a performance of "Our American Cousin." Prior to that, Booth had been in the vicinity of the theater, making preparations and coordinating with his co-conspirators. He also visited the nearby Surratt boarding house to discuss his plans before carrying out the assassination on April 14, 1865.
