What ammunition in a 22-250 caliber would be best for short range whitetail deer hunting?

I have a 22-250 that use for hunting and i have killed 7 deer this season.the bullet I use is a ballistic tip.but allot of people suggest that with a smaller round.like a 22-250 it is best to use the cheaper core lokt bullets because they have more weight.I personally prefer 55 gr. ballistic tips.
