Who designed the flag of Bangladesh?

The flag of Bangladesh was designed by painter Quamrul Hassan (1921 - 1988), and first hoisted on March 2, 1971. The current flag's design, a slightly off-centred red circle on a dark green field, was initially embellished by a yellow map of Bangladesh inside the red circle.
