How is a wendigo created?

A wendigo is a mythical creature from Algonquian folklore, typically created when a person resorts to cannibalism during times of extreme hunger or desperation. This act transforms them into a wendigo, a malevolent spirit characterized by insatiable greed and a hunger for human flesh. The transformation symbolizes the dangers of unchecked desire and moral decay, as the wendigo becomes a manifestation of the individual's darkest impulses. In some interpretations, the wendigo can also emerge from a curse or as a result of prolonged isolation in harsh conditions.
