The first commercial software package to incorporate WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) functionality was Bravo, developed at Xerox PARC in the early 1970s. The first widely recognized commercial software to utilize WYSIWYG was Apple’s MacWrite, released in 1984, which brought the concept to a broader audience with the introduction of the Macintosh computer.
