What is the niche of a velociraptor?

Velociraptor's niche was apex predator. They hunted animals such as Protoceratops. This is known because of a fossil specimen in which a Velociraptor and a Protoceratops were fighting, when they were immediately buried alive by a sandstorm a collapsing sand dune.
