What is the story of Siddarthas birth?

Siddhartha Gautama, also known as Buddha, was born in the 5th century BCE in Lumbini, present-day Nepal. His mother, Queen Maya, gave birth to him under a sala tree in a sacred garden. According to legend, upon his birth, he took seven steps and proclaimed that he would either become a great king or a great spiritual leader.
