What are tentalcales extending upward called?

Not sure of the question but if you mean by 'tentalcales extending upward' to be in caves as long tentalcales extending upward then the simple way to rember is 'Mites down, Tites up. By this I mean Stalagmites and Stalactites. Hope this is of help.
