How do you spell out month date and year?

There are different conventions. The most common American convention is to use the format January 25, 1983, spelling out the month, and following it with the day and year as numbers.

Other styles involve putting the day first, so that this date would be written 25 January 1983. Still other styles involve abbreviating the month (25 Jan 1983) and sometimes using only the last two digits of the year.
