Macbeth (d. August 15, 1057) is responsible for the defeat of the Thane of Cawdor in Act I of the play "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare (Baptized April 26, 1564 - April 23, 1616).
Specifically, Macbeth is one of two generals involved in the defense of King Duncan (d. August 14, 1040) against invading Norwegians and rebellious Scots. A leading role among the rebels is played by the Thane of Cawdor. He pays with his life and with the forfeit of his title and property to Macbeth.
