How many animals are murdered at animal shelters in one day in the US?

On a daily basis, millions of chickens and turkeys (there are dozens of poultry plants that harvest 500,000 birds every day, plus hundreds more smaller plants), hundreds of thousands of hogs (again, dozens of plants that harvest 20,000 hogs a day) and several hundred thousand cattle (dozens of plants that harvest up to 10,000 cows a day).
