Is herring a type of crops?

Herring is a fish, so it's generally not considered a crop unless it's farmed. Aquaculture farmers do actually refer to batches of their product as a "catfish crop," for example. But I've never heard of anyone farming herring, so I don't know if there would be any "crops."
