Why did Newport cigarettes change the box to say cigarettes instead of menthol box and crush proof box is now just box?

I have heard that they are trying to band Menthol (mainly rat poison) out of all cigarettes.. what your smokeing now is an artificial menthol .. and thus why they cant label the box MENTHOL any more that's false advertisement
