George Burns (1896-1996) quit fourth grade to enter show business full time on the stage and vaudeville circuit. Burns made his first movie appearance in 1929 in a short film called 'Lambchops'; he and his wife, Gracie Allen, began their own radio show in 1932, then their own TV program which debuted in 1950. His final movie appearance was in 'Radioland Murders' in 1994 at the age of 98.
