Slimestars, a type of sea star, primarily feed on small invertebrates, such as mollusks and crustaceans. They use their tube feet to pry open the shells of their prey and then extend their stomachs out of their bodies to digest the food externally. This unique feeding method allows them to consume organisms that are otherwise difficult to access. In some cases, they may also scavenge on dead animals.
