2000 cabrio wmanual trans wont turn over all lights radio everything works but it wont crank I push started it to get it home. Do the cabrios have a neutral safety switch if so where is it?

I had the same situation on my 1998 Cabrio. I diagnosed the problem as a "no crank" situation rather than a "no start" situation. with the key on, (vehicle in neutral and the parking brake on for safety) I jumpered the solenoid on the starter and went directly from the battery to the starter with a heavy gage wire. This should have cranked the engine over but it did not. This indicated the starter was bad. I replaced the starter, end of problem. Hope this helps
