How long can the twilight vampires go without blood?

It is not really mentions or entirely sure but in Midnight Sun Edward explains how after a few weeks it gets uncomfortable and difficult to control the thirst. I think someone mentions something about roughly 2 weeks - 1 month is the maximum, depending upon self control.
