What is the main difference between the term intercultural and cross-cultural in term of behavior comparison?

TO me "intercultural" involves collaboration, whereas cross-cultural is finding ways to understand or represent another culture. In this sense, intercultural pulls together two or more cultural forms towards the creation of something new--by the parties involved.
