How do you tell if a goat kid is still born?

A stillborn may give clues. Look to see if it looks like it moved. Leg movement patterns in the bedding, or the position it is lying in could be indicators. The doe may have cleaned up one side of the kid but not the side it is lying on. A kid that died sometime before birth may have an unpleasant odor or seem unusually floppy or limber.
