How were slaves in the 'deep south' of the USA treated?

Some were treated well, some very badly, but they were slaves, and that was the issue, not how they were treated.

Inhuman treatment of others is immoral, even if one is nice about it.

they were beat, tortured, whipped, raped, murdered, etc. the list is so long. Some might have been treated well but they were still property. No one deserves to be someone elses property. They were treated like animals or even worse. no one was treated properly and no one ever survived 1 year there. poor people were taken there and put into slavery but so many people died that only a few people lived. :-D
