How big do black marlin grow?

Black marlin can grow exceptionally large, with females typically reaching lengths of 10 to 14 feet (3 to 4.3 meters) and weights of up to 1,500 pounds (680 kilograms). Males are generally smaller, averaging about 6.6 to 9.8 feet (2 to 3 meters) in length and weighing up to 200 pounds (90 kilograms). These impressive sizes make black marlin one of the largest species of billfish in the ocean.
