How do you tell if a turkey is a boy or a girl?

It is quite obvious actually. The turkeys we imagine around Thanksgiving time are really all males.(Female turkeys are called pehens) The female turkeys are much smaller and look nothing like the male. So do not bother turning your turkey upside down and looking down there! The outside appearance is all you need to notice.
