How loud are seagulls?

I think there are 2 possible answers:

1. the sound the seagulls make bounce off the sea making it un-noticebely echo.

2. They have to be loud because of the loudness scale of the wind and/or waves. If they were quiet then they couldn't hear each other is there was danger or if they had to call someone.
