Coffee, cotton, soybeans, sugarcane, and tobacco are grown as Paraguayan exports. Castor beans, coconuts, cotton, flax, palm, peanuts, soybeans, and sunflowers are grown for their seeds, which are exported as processed vegetable oils. Bitter Oranges and tung nuts are grown for export, respectively as the processed non-vegetable oils of petit-grain and tung. Paraguay's food crops are French and lima beans, maize, manioc aka cassava, peanuts, peas, rice, sorghum, sweet potatoes, and wheat. Fruits include Apples, avocados, bananas, citrus, grapes, guavas, mangoes, melons, papayas, peaches, Pears, pineApples, plums, strawberries, and watermelons. Vegetables include carrots, gourds, squash, and tomatoes. Garlic and onions are also grown. And so is yerba mate. It's a member of the holly family, and the source of popular cold and hot drinks.
