The inputs have to be natural, non-chemical, and un-genetically modified. The procedures must focus upon proper cultivation and treatment schedules relying upon biological and mechanical controls. Genetic modification will not be tolerated.

As a result, organic farming has no dependence upon chemicals, genetically modified organisms, or preservatives. It therefore intends to minimize or prevent after- and side-effects from environmental residue. As a consequence, organic farming theoretically results in healthier soils, pollution-free environments, and robust food webs.
