These personalized pillows will add ownership to any child's room, and there will be no fighting over whose pillow is whose, as their name will be on the pillow itself. Let your imagination run wild as you make and decorate these name pillows. It will only take a few minutes of your time if you follow these basic steps.

Step 1: Gather these materials Two 16” square pieces of felt. These will be used to make the front and back of the pillow. • 4” square pieces of felt for small letters for the name • ¼ yard of paper-backed fusible web • Tracing paper • Pencil • Two skeins of 6 strand embroidery thread to color coordinate with the felt • A #5 chenille needle • Scissors • Straight pins • Polyester fiberfill • Ironing board and iron

Step 2: Draw the first letter of the name on the two16” square pieces of felt and cut it out. The letters should be as high and wide as possible.

Step 3: Draw the remaining letters on the tracing paper and flip the tracing paper over to the opposite side.

Step 4: Place the fusible web over the letters you drew on the tracing paper. Trace letters to the paper side of the fusible web. Follow the directions from the manufacture of the fusible web, apply to felt and cut it out.

Step 5: Arrange the smaller letters of the name on the front side of the first letter, and spell out the rest of the name. Fuse the smaller letters in place on the larger letter.

Step 6: Pin the large letters of the name together with the name on the front side. Make sure the edges are even, and use the embroidery thread and needle to blanket stitch all around the letter. Stuff the letter with the polyester fiberfill as you go, for a fuller and more even fill.

Step 7: For letters that have an opening in the middle of them use a blanket stitch and sew around the opening first, and then around the outside edges.

This pillow makes a wonderful personalized gift. It is easily made for around $10 and takes very little time to build a cherished keepsake. You can add decorations that suit the person you are making it for or just leave it simple with the person’s name.
