What was Thurgood Marshall famous for?

Attorney Thurgood Marshall led the civil rights case of Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka to a successful hearing at the Supreme Court of the United States in 1954.

From 1965 to 1967, he was Solicitor General of the US, and in 1967 became the first African-American to be appointed a justice on the US Supreme Court.
