How long does USPS first-class international take from New York to India?

It often takes at least a week to receive a parcel from India. I placed an order for a package through express USPS international mail, but it took almost five days for my package just to clear through customs and I have still not received that package on day nine. Sometimes the wait is longer and sometimes it's shorter. All I know is that I hope it comes soon.
