What are the pension benefits for the senate?

The president of the senate is the vice-president of the United States. He does not get an automatic pension , but his four years as senate president are treated as if he were in Congress. He gets no pension unless he serves a total of 5 years as vice-president and in Congress. The size of the pension is based on the total number of years served.
