What are pedipulps?

Pedipalps are a pair of appendages found in arachnids, such as Spiders and scorpions, situated near the mouth. They are often used for sensory perception, manipulation of food, and in some species, reproduction. Structurally, they resemble legs but are typically shorter and more specialized for their functions. In certain spiders, pedipalps can also serve as reproductive organs in males.
