Well, it depends on how you define the US. For example if you are only incuding the lower 48 states the center will be different than if you include Alaska and Hawaii. The center would change again if you include the overseas possesions such as Puerto Rico. Also, since the exact center probably does not sit in a town or city, there are probably a few communties that can make the claim.
