Who would be held responsible for a car accident she is seventeen years old and had no insurance and no drivers licence someone sold her the car?

it depends laws vary from state to state in Road island if the guy who sold the car has any type of bill of sale even a napkin with her signature hes off. but say in MASS there needs to be a contract and bill of sale along with a title of sale which includes a license number and if the person doesnt have a license and you sold the car u can be pined for it.
