Did caboto ever achieve its goals?

John Cabot, an Italian explorer, aimed to find a westward route to Asia and claim new territories for England. While he did not achieve his goal of reaching Asia, he is credited with the discovery of parts of North America, specifically the coastline of Newfoundland in 1497. His explorations laid the groundwork for future English claims in the New World, but ultimately, his objectives of establishing trade routes to Asia were not realized.
