How do you get the assistive touch button off the screen?

To remove the AssistiveTouch button from the screen on an iphone or ipad, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch. Toggle the switch to turn off AssistiveTouch. The button should disappear from the screen immediately.
