When can a male cat start mating?

Male cats usually reach sexual maturity around six months of age, although it can be as early as four months. This is why it is strongly advised by most vets to neuter cats before they are six months old, as not only will it only prevent certain serious medical problems, it will prevent or stop any unwanted behavior such as spraying.
