Where did the velociraptor live and where were the fossils found?

Velociraptor lived in what is now Mongolia and north-central China between 75 and 71 million years ago. There area was a desert at the time, complete with vast areas of sand dunes and frequent sandstorms. Life was sustained by scattered creeks, which would be surrounded by vegetation. Plants were sparse except near sources of water, where there would be oases. Types of plants include conifers, cycads, ginkgoes, ferns, horsetails, and early angiOSperms, such as primitive grasses and palm trees.
